FAQs

Wondershield Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant can be used to clean, disinfect and protect by using several different application methods. These include spraying, misting and wiping. For detailed instructions to use the Wondergun nano, please refer to the manual provided.

Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant is solvent-free, has no chlorines, bleaches or carcinogenic compounds. It is also non-oxidative, non-flammable and bio friendly. Rather than poisoning microbes, Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant uses a small electrostatic charge to kill microorganisms, making it suitable for use in healthcare, childcare, education, commercial and domestic environments. It can be used on a wide range of surfaces and high touch areas including counters, door handles, bathrooms, floors, furniture and seating. Rapidly degrading, Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant breaks down to form simple organic compounds — reducing the potential for negative environmental impacts.

The active ingredient in Wondershield’s products are called quaternary ammonium compounds, for short we refer to them as Quats. While Quats are an active ingredient in many existing cleaning products, we have taken the science a step further by finding a way to ‘lock’ the quats onto surfaces for long-lasting antimicrobial protection. Hence the name “Quatlock”.

In one word: durability. Most disinfectants and sanitation products offer what we refer to as a ‘flash kill’. This means that they kill bacteria when they are applied, but then within a short time they evaporate leaving surfaces (or hands) vulnerable to recontamination. Wondershield Hospital Grade Disinfectant both offer residual efficacy — meaning that they kill germs and then also stick around to continually defend against them. It’s this long-lasting antimicrobial protection that sets Wondershield apart.

Wondershield Hospital Grade Disinfectant & Protectant has been assessed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, and following assessment of the data and label (which describes the product claims), the T.G.A. listed the product on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (the ARTG), as well as included the product on the list of disinfectants effective against COVID-19.

The QuatLock™ technology within Wondershield’s products works at a microscopic level — it’s too small for us to see (or even feel) but it’s very effective against the nasties that we’re trying to protect ourselves against. When used as directed you are unlikely to notice that it is even there.

Some products in the Wondershield’s cleaning range have been designed work together as a clean, disinfect and protect hygiene system. For more information on how products can be used please refer to the SDS and follow the directions.

Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant is suitable for use in many environments including childcare, education, manufacturing, residential care, transport, hospitality, commercial and for domestic uses.

Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant uses QuatLock™ technology to bond the active antimicrobial to most surfaces for long-lasting defence. For more information on QuatLock™ you can read about the science behind Wondershield here. Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant is listed on the ARTG (Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods) as a Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant that protects surfaces for up to 24 hours in high touch areas and up to 30 days in low touch areas.

Wondershield’s Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant has been tested according to the following methods EN1276, EN13697, EN13624, ASTM 1053, EN 14476, AOAC 991.47, AOAC 991.48 , AOAC 991.49 and ASTM E2149 and is effective against a broad range of bacteria and viruses such as Human Coronavirus E229 (including COVID-19), Murine Hepatitis Virus (MHV), Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus hirer, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella choleraesuis.

Each Wondershield product has a different formulation, depending on its purpose therefore we suggest reading the SDS for a full run down on the ingredients and directions for use. On the whole we endeavour to develop products that break down to form simple organic compounds reducing the potential for negative environmental impacts.
